As already mentioned, the Langstrasse is a good place for night-owls. A bar myfriendfromzurich particularly likes is the Meyer’s. It´s a bit further up though, but the Toast Hawaii and the genuine crowd, makes up for the night journey.
For solid rock, strong drinks and a rockabilly feeling, go to Mata Hari Bar or Sansibar.

We suggest you have a quiet drink at one of Zurichs many great bars such as the Volkshaus or the Rivington and Sons. Or treat yourself with a nice dinner or a visit to the cinema.
If you’re still not tired from Friday and Saturday night, party on at clubs Kaufleuten or Helsinki - Zurich almost never sleeps.
Listen to the inspiration for the post. And remember: Only one quiet drink – otherwise you risk a rough start into the new week. If you’re looking for restaurant tips, read our previous suggestions.
Oh yes, we totally understand the desire for a quiet nap!
Kafi Schnaps, Kafi zum guten Glück and Kafi für Dich are all three nice guesthouses with an ensuite café where you can mingle with the locals during your breakfast. A complete list of all hostels and hotels in Zurich you´ll find here.
Also check out our recommendations for dorm beds in Zurich.
Backpackers usually head for the Youth Hostel in Wollishofen (not that central) or the City Backpacker Hostel Biber in the middle of the old town. Hostel Langstars is situated right in the heart of buzzy Kreis 4 and has 48 reasonable priced dorm beds.
Or try couchsurfing and airbnb.

Founded in the 90s as a “living room orchestra”, Brockdorff Klang Labor soon started to integrate electronic instruments in their musical works and they first published four strictly limited tapes. One of them “Tausend Bunte Lichter” did earn exceeding reputation with its symbiosis of flute and beatboxing and made them to pioneers of the electro-folk. That was the cornerstone of a remarkable development.
To cut a long story short: they still produce finest german electro music and you get the chance to hear them live: this Saturday, 2 March, they grace Zurich with a concert at Helsinki Klub (see our Finland – post from February 17). Make sure to buy your tickets in advance!
For lovers of Bratze, Saalschutz or Tocotronic.
Btw: If you prefer the combination of electronic and classical music, we got another happening for you next weekend: thonhalleLATE on Friday 1 March, where classic meets electro.
