It´s my mission to visit a cinema in every foreign city I´ve been to. Where do I find one in Zurich?

Hmm… interesting request. But no judging, so here we are: For mainstream movies check Kitag. Riffraff has a good agenda of independent movies, Xenix and Uto (the oldest cinema in town) special reprises.

Riffraff and Xenix are nice places for a beer or a quick bite too – you’re even allowed to bring your drinks into the cinema hall.

For those of you on a budget: In Zurich, Monday night is cinema night! Tickets are available for 13 Swiss Francs only – a bargain!

I love dramas! Where can I enjoy them?

Our favourite and one of the most important theatres in the German-speaking world is the Schauspielhaus Zürich. At Pfauen, they perform more traditional and well-known classics whilst at their other venue Schiffbau, you can enjoy rather new and debut performances.

The Theater Neumarkt in the historic quarters of Zurich is a modern playhouse performing relevant plays with a strong potential to surprise and enthrall the audience.

For lovers of modern-dance, experimental plays and genre-independent comprehensive projects, Theater Gessnerallee is the place to be.

And last but not least, Miller’s Studio at the mill Tiefenbrunnen offers the most entertaining theatre sports evenings.

France part II: I am looking for “un peu de la France” far from home. Give me some tips!

It is a fact: our French neighbours know how to dress. There are some fantastic French labels available in Zurich:

The clothes from Maje make you feel like a lady and a rockstar at the same time. Need to know more?

Sandro has it all: change in style par excellence. Wonderful stylish clothes, fabrics, colours… Justement un rêve!

Very classy and timeless clothes with the important little details are the ones from Comptoir des Cotonniers. To buy at Globus.

The Appartment Store also sells some French labels like A.P.C. and Loft. Stylish shop, great customer service and a fascinating mixture of avant-garde and independent.

At the BIG shop at Bahnhofstrasse, they have a little choice on Isabel Marant and Sessùn clothes on the top floor.
